Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers. 

 

We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.

 

We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our hope is that you will have a life-giving experience with God, no matter where you are on your journey. Our mission is to help you birth a passion for God and continue to feed that passion through biblical teaching and the Holy Spirit’s power. Ultimately, we want you healed, equipped and released to do all that God has called you to do! God has a purpose for all of us and we can never truly know fulfillment until we are walking in our God-given purpose!

OUR HISTORY

SMALL BEGINNINGS

  1. Founded in 2018 by Pastors Tim and Tina Notz, with a small group of family and friends.
  2. Launched our first service on April 7, 2019 in Bernard Middle School gymnasium.
  3. In 2020, we moved into our second location, a small A-frame church in South County off S. Lindbergh Blvd.
  4. Due to our growth, we needed a larger building. We purchased our current facility in Byrnes Mill, MO on 10 acres on June 16, 2021.
  5. After renovating the facility, we moved in and held our first service on September 12, 2021.

Tim and Tina Notz

Lead Pastors

Tim and Tina Notz serve as the lead pastors of SpiritWord Church, and they have been active in ministry for more than 25 years. They both were born and raised in the St. Louis area. They believe the Word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit are applicable and powerful for everyday living. They love to teach and encourage others to find their God-given purpose and to pursue it with all that they have. Tim and Tina are also passionate about reaching the community and the world with the life-giving, life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Together, they have traveled to more than 13 different nations with hope and healing. They have been married since 1991, raised four young men and now have six beautiful grandchildren.
